How using a calendar effectively can transform your business.

Are you the kind of person who plans out your days? Many people don’t plan things enough, and that can hurt them. At Camelot, we all use Google calendars, but it’s what you do with the calendar that matters. We use Google Calendar to plan our days and then update them as things change. This adjustment allows us to see what truly went on each week.

To help us organize all of this, we color code our schedule. Red is for family time, yellow is for energy like working out and exercising, and orange is for training. Light green is for prospecting new clients, and dark green is for following up and setting appointments with these new clients. Blue is for other work activities like home inspections, following up with past clients, showing homes to clients who aren’t new, answering emails, and more.

“A calendar can show you what you need more of.”

Then brown is for all of your free time when you’re watching TV, playing video games, or even talking to coworkers. If you’re a part-time agent, all of the time you spend on your other business would be in brown. Lastly, purple is for meetings where you’re learning and working. As an example, every morning we go over scripts and role-play. That meeting would be in purple.

With all of this organization, at the end of the day and week, we can see what took up our time. The calendar will show us if we didn’t prospect enough or spend enough time with new appointments. A calendar can show you what you need more of.

Overall, know that we highly recommend using a calendar to stay organized and keep yourself on track. If you have any questions about this process or want to see more of how we organize our calendars, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can call or email us anytime, and we look forward to talking with you.
